About our opportunity

We have multiple opportunities for experienced leaders to join our fun and energetic team at the Morayfield Sport & Events Centre (MSEC)!

MSEC is a dynamic and busy multi-purpose venue, comprising of five indoor timber sprung courts, a large indoor event space, meeting rooms and an onsite cafe that can be hired to facilitate and cater events and activities for over 3000 people, 7 days a week. Successful applicants may be required to work nights and weekends on a rotating roster.

As a Venue and Events Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the venue, including:

  • Leading and inspiring a team of staff.
  • Overseeing a range of exciting events and facility hires.
  • Implementing training and development.
  • Managing all areas of food safety and café operations.
  • Undertaking financial reporting.
  • Ensuring health & safety policies and procedures are met for all areas of the business.
  • Act as an approved Manager for responsible service of alcohol.

Successful full-time applicants will be required to work 76 hours per fortnight, including nights and weekends on a rotating roster. We anticipate this roster will be Tuesday to Saturday (afternoon/evening shifts) with an RDO every second Thursday. The casual position will work shifts based on operational needs and this may include working nights and weekends.

About you

We’re looking for a team player that loves to work collaborative and contribute to a positive work environment! You will also have:

  • Confidence in training, developing and coaching a diverse team.
  • Strong administration experience and ability to learn new CRM & booking systems.
  • Experience in venue operations and event management.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial operations, including bank reconciliation, cash handling & POS systems.
  • Passion for delivering a high standard of service for all stakeholders.
  • Ability to take initiative and use your problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and continue career growth.

The role may be physically demanding at times as you will be involved in setting up and packing down events, so it’s important that you are comfortable with the physical aspects of the position.   

To be successful in this role you must possess a current Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) certificate or be willing to obtain, as you will be the Approved Manager for liquor licencing activities.

Applicants must be willing to obtain an Apply First Aid Certification and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification, Queensland Working with Children Blue Card and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
