About our opportunity
Our Morayfield Sport & Event Centre (MSEC) team are currently on the search for motivated casual Venue Assistants!
MSEC is a dynamic and busy multi-purpose venue, comprising of five indoor timber sprung courts, a large indoor event space, meeting rooms and an onsite cafe that can be hired to facilitate and cater events and activities for over 3000 people, 7 days a week.
Our venue team are on the frontline delivering outstanding customer service to staff, clients, patrons and contractors. This position will focus on hospitality and event services, undertaking several duties within the venue including (but not limited to):
- Cafe operations including use of point-of-sale systems, food and beverage preparation and delivery in accordance with food and liquor license regulations.
- Daily operations and events, including setup and breakdown, seating arrangements, sporting equipment and maintaining venue cleanliness.
- Ensuring seamless event experience, including managing ticket sales and entry, traffic control and ushering patrons.
You will be employed on a casual basis across a 7-day roster, successful applicants may be required to work nights and weekends. It is anticipated hours will average up to 15 per week, however this is subject to change based on venue demand and the working environment.
About you
We're looking to grow our team with experienced hospitality or event all-rounders that are eager to contribute to a positive work environment and deliver exceptional customer service.
Along with your passion for creating positive customer experiences and event preparation, you will also have exceptional time management skills and proficiency in managing priorities.
It is important that you are physically fit and comfortable undertaking physically demanding duties and can proactively work autonomously and within a team.
Successful applicants must have demonstrated experience in providing:
- Front of house and back of house café operations, including barista and food preparation
- cash handling and utilising Point of Sale (POS)
- duties that require frequent and correct manual handling (lifting, moving, pushing, pulling)
- responsible service of alcohol and food safety
To be eligible for an immediate start at the venue, you will also hold a current Working with Children Blue Card. The following certifications will also need to be obtained within 3 months if not held:
- current Qld RSA - Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
- current First Aid & CPR
