Join City of Moreton Bay as a Construction Senior Engineer – Development Services and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
In this new technical leadership role, you will provide specialist expertise and direction to ensure development construction works, particularly transport and stormwater infrastructure, are delivered in compliance with development approvals, Council standards, and community expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the review, assessment, and approval of engineering designs relating to development construction
- Oversee and undertake inspections of subdivision and development works to ensure compliance with approvals and Council standards
- Provide technical leadership and direction to the Construction Technical Team and Technical Officers
- Negotiate with developers, contractors, and consultants to achieve compliant and practical infrastructure outcomes
- Manage construction compliance processes, including subdivision approval and acceptance
- Prepare technical reports, briefs, and conditions for development approvals
- Provide specialist advice on moderately complex transport and stormwater infrastructure matters
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in development engineering, subdivisions, or civil construction (local government experience highly regarded)
- Strong knowledge of planning and development legislation, standards, and policy frameworks
- Comprehensive understanding of transport and stormwater infrastructure planning, design, and construction
- Experience providing technical oversight and mentoring to other engineering professionals
- Ability to assess traffic management plans, road closures, and community impacts
- Well‑developed stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and report‑writing skills
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Current White Card (General Construction Induction)
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
