The Details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
  • $106,975 pa + 12% super (level 6)
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Narangba

Join City of Moreton Bay as a Senior Public Safety Officer, and play a key role in strengthening safe, secure, and resilient communities for today and tomorrow.

This role provides specialist oversight of portable assets and Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), ensuring compliance, quality control, and effective maintenance to deliver sustainable EMPS operations.

You will monitor and assess Council public safety initiatives, including portable CCTV systems, network management, crime prevention activities, and RPAS deployments, contributing directly to improved community safety outcomes.

About you

We are looking for someone who brings confident oversight of complex public safety environments, balancing governance, delivery, and risk. A proactive problem solver who works collaboratively to achieve practical, well‑considered outcomes. You will apply sound judgment under pressure, manage sensitive material with discretion, and achieve outcomes through structured planning.

You will also; 

  • coordinate public safety operations including contract administration, monitoring frameworks, technical assessment, and evidence‑based decision making.
  • apply project methodologies, prioritisation discipline, rapid turnaround capability, and deadline control across concurrent workstreams.
  • analyse data sets, CCTV footage, images, or distressing content, producing accurate reports through objective evaluation and fact synthesis.
  • build productive stakeholder partnerships, negotiate agreements, and deliver compliant solutions informed by CPTED principles, CCTV architecture, and Civil Aviation Safety Regulations Part 101.
  • being responsible for the safe deployment, maintenance, and day-to-day management of portable CCTV poles across the region.

You will need to have a Current C class driver’s licence and  hold or be able to obtain a Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) certified by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
