Join City of Moreton Bay as a Gallery Leader and help shape and enrich our communities for today and tomorrow through inspiring arts and cultural experiences.
As part of the Cultural Services department, you will lead the operation of a dynamic gallery space that delivers high-quality exhibitions and public programs to connect with our diverse community. You will provide leadership and direction to a small team, ensuring the gallery is a welcoming, inclusive and engaging environment for all visitors. This role also plays a key part in fostering relationships with local artists, community groups and stakeholders, ensuring programming is locally relevant and impactful, while maintaining a well-presented and efficiently operated facility.
You will:
- Supervise the daily operations of a gallery delivering a continuous exhibition program and a range of public programs
- Lead and manage team members, including preparation of staff rosters
- Ensure the gallery is presented as a welcoming, safe and engaging space, including identifying and addressing general facility maintenance matters
- Build and maintain relationships with local community stakeholders to inform exhibitions and programs
- Prepare and maintain venue performance reports and statistical data to support operational insights and improvements

This position requires the successful applicant to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours. Your standard roster will be Tuesday to Saturday, with a Saturday RDO.
About you
We’re seeking a natural leader with a genuine passion for the arts, who equally combines the experience of developing engaging, exhibition-led programs that foster community connection and support individual wellbeing with the operation of a cultural facility.
You will be innovative and collaborative in your approach to building community engagement and positive experiences and have effective leadership and communication skills to actively engage with our stakeholders, including our residents, creative practitioners and tourists.
You will have the ability to uphold our values to provide effective leadership and strong experience and knowledge in the operations of a visitor-focused cultural facility. The successful applicant will be required to provide the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Cultural Services and/or equivalent experience
- Current C class drivers’ licence
